LADIES DOUBLES BOX MATCHES
Ladies are invited to sign up for the Ladies Doubles Box matches tournament which will be held over the period 20th November 2023 to 21st January 2024.
This popular tournament has been held over the past couple of years. Ladies are grouped into various boxes and matches are played within each box in a round robin format. Box match results may be taken into account, together with other criteria, in the league selection process.
The entry fee is Eur10 which covers prizes for Box winners and runners-up. Entry is now open on Easy Payments and closes on Sunday 12th November.
MEN’S "SUPER SINGLES" Tennis at MLTC
The response to the men's "super singles" event has been fantastic - currently scheduled for Friday 17 November (6 pm - 8pm). More details to come next week. There is still time to sign up if you are keen. Please use the following WhatsApp link:-

LADIES SINGLES LADDER
The Ladies Singles Ladder is now live and guidelines have been issued to participating players. The ladder will be run on a trial basis for 6 months.
Please note that ladies can join the ladder at any time in the future subject to the relevant guidelines for new joiners to the Ladder (available shortly on the website and also from Aoife Stokes).
SENIOR COACHING SCHEDULE – NEW TERM
Reminder to sign up for new term of coaching, now open for booking on Easy Payments.
Please note that there are different starting dates due to some sessions catching up on rained off sessions from previous term!
FLOODLIGHT LEAGUE
Men - The final gameweek of the floodlight league had been postponed due to inclement weather last week. The rescheduled fixtures were played on Monday of this week, and both teams knew the results required.
Team 1 won 2-1 against Sandycove. Fergus O'Rourke won the first singles (61,61) and the doubles pairing of Johnny O'Shea and Michael McMahon narrowly lost out in the doubles (46,67). This result would be decided by the second singles. Fortunately, Michael Barron held his nerve and triumphed in a third set championship tiebreak (10-6). This result means that the team qualify for the quarter final playoff, where they are away to Co. Wicklow 1 on 13/11 at 19:30. Good luck to captain Mickey Mc and Team !!
Our other class team 2, captained by David Keane, required two points from their final match vs Rathgar to avoid relegation. There wasn't to be any nail biting though as the team won comprehensively 3-0. David Keane won the first singles (62,62), Jack Gannon won second singles (57,64,10 3) and Robin Craig, playing with Harry Crossan also winning (64,64).

LADIES SOCIAL TENNIS - Attention ALL Ladies
Come along for some complimentary coaching with Stephen at ladies social morning next Wednesday 8th November from 10am.
Please note we are also looking for some ladies to host a social tennis morning. The volunteer sign up sheet is up on the notice board.
Ladies Social Evening
A reminder that we are holding a ladies tennis tournament on Friday 10th November between 6-8pm followed by wine, nibbles and chats. All welcome!
Sign up sheet is up on the notice board in the clubhouse. Please sign up by Wednesday 8th November or message a member of the ladies committee who will add your name in.
Entry fee is €10 to be paid on the night, either by cash or Revolut.
Looking forward to seeing some of you then.
Ladies Christmas Party
The tickets for the Ladies Christmas Party, which will take place on Friday 1st December, will be available to book via Easy Payments, from today.
Tickets cost €43 per person and include a Prosecco reception from 7pm, 3-course meal and a DJ till late!
Be sure to book early to avoid disappointment, as numbers are limited.
MEN’S MORNING – Sunday Mornings
Men’s morning will be on at the usual time to 10am – 12 noon this Sunday.
Do come along for a hit and a social cuppa!
THURSDAY - CLUB NIGHT
Club night will be on as usual tonight between 8pm and 10pm.
Pop down at any stage for a hit and a chat!
Stephen will be on hand as usual for some coaching tips and fun at 8pm!
THURSDAY NIGHT CARDIO TENNIS
Tonight is the first of 4 nights to introduce evening cardio tennis (energetic tennis drills to music) – there are just a few places left, runs from 8pm to 9pm. Sign up on Easy Payments

STARS & STRIPES TOURNAMENT
Congratulations to the MLTC U/12 Girls who won the Autumn 2023 Girls Stars and Stripes Cup. They represented MLTC so well winning 21 of the 24 double matches that they played!
CONGRATULATIONS
A big shout out to all our members who participated in the Dublin City Marathon last weekend. Despite very wet weather many of you persevered and raised much needed funds for many charities – very well done to you!
