SENIOR LEAGUE – sign up now
This league runs over 5 Sundays starting on 3rd September.

Must be over 35 years to play.

Mens matches are on the Sunday mornings and Ladies matches are on the Sunday afternoons.

The sign-up sheet for Senior league is now on the noticeboard. 

 


NEW- OVER 60S LADIES LEAGUE

DLTC are launching their inaugural Ladies over 60s league in September. 
If we get sufficient interest, we would like to enter one team of 3 doubles pairings at Class 4/5/6 level.
Matches, in a round robin format, will be held on Wednesday mornings at 11a.m on the following dates:  Wednesday 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th September & 4th October.
If you are interested, PLEASE TEXT AOIFE STOKES on 087 2754562 by 20th July.
NOTE - Ladies can register their interest for BOTH of the above leagues,however the anticipated demand for places will most likely mean that you would only be selected for one.


SENIOR HANDICAPS TOURNAMENT

This year’s Senior Handicap Tournament is now to quarter and semi final stage and what a great event it has been.  The weather has been mixed but that didn’t stop the enthusiasm of the players with some very competitive matches being played.

Tomorrow, Friday, is semi-finals night, so please do come and watch some great tennis matches and enjoy the ambiance of the bistro style function room – delicious toasties, snacks, cheese platters, wine beer, tea and coffee all available.

Saturday is of course Finals Day and we hope to see you all here supporting – matches will be played throughout the day (check the link to the Handicaps on our club website for exact times)

 

Many thanks especially to social secretary Carol Curtin and Mary McLoughlin for all their hard work organising the social side to this event. 

Also big thanks to all the volunteers who helped out in the kitchen each night and managed each evenings sign in

 

 SUMMER BBQ – fully booked out!

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the BBQ on Saturday!

We'll kick-off at 7.30pm with a prosecco reception, followed by the

Handicaps' prize-giving at 8pm sharp.   

Food will be served at 8.30, followed by music/dancing (with DJ) until late!   

This event is now sold-out.

  

GROUNDS

A big thank you to our own Gary Crowley who has stepped in to spruce up the mltc grounds while Arek is away!  The place looks great – thanks Gary!

Men’s morning will be on at the usual time of 10am til 12noon this Sunday

  

JUNIOR HANDICAPS

Junior Handicaps have been running this week, and wonderful to see so many juniors playing their matches with great enthusiasm, skill and fun. 

Finals day will be on tomorrow, Friday 14th,  from 10am – 12  and   2pm – 4pm.

It is always a wonderful occasion for the juniors and their families and all supporters very welcome!  And please bring a plate!

 JUNIOR SUMMER – CAMPS AND SUPERVISION – Book in now

Please be advised that Summer Supervision has commenced.

Payment options are available on Easy Payments and apply to all children from 7 to 15 years of age.

 

There are some places left for the upcoming Junior Tennis Camps available throughout the summer  – Booking now open on Easy Payments!

  

UPDATE FROM STEPHEN

Having represented Ireland v Australia on the 30th June - the teams drew 5 all -  a great result -  Robyn Kennedy has again been selected for Ireland to play in The Summer Cup which will be played in Italy commencing 26th July. What a trip Robyn!  Congrats & the very best of luck from all in MLTC.

 

Both Robyn & Rosie played in the Tennis Europe U/14 event held in Shankill last week with Robyn reaching the Semi final of the doubles.

 

Mary O'Callaghan continues to get some very good results in open tournaments..

Mary won the U/18 Tour 100 singles event in Naas last week.   Sean Carney also had a great win to capture the U/14 singles title...Well done both of you!

The East of Ireland  Junior Championships in Sutton is the venue for next week.

 

On the Senior front Fergus O'Rourke is keeping the flag flying in the prestigious Co Dublin Championships being played in Carrickmines...he plays his quarter final match tonight.  Very best of luck Fergus!

 

Don't forget there's a Summer Camp next week - 17th - 21st July...

6 - 10 year olds  10am  -  1pm    &    11 - 14 year olds 2 - 5pm

 

Should be a fun week along with learning lots of new tennis skills !
