RED WEATHER WARNING TOMORROW – Club will be closed

As there is a countrywide red weather warning for Friday, the club will remain closed all day tomorrow.

 

 

2025 ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION

A reminder that the Membership Subscriptions are due. 

 Payments can be made in full with a deadline of 14th February 2025 or by instalments via Easy Payments. Those wishing to pay by instalments have up until 27th January to register for that option.

 We would appreciate it if payments can be made promptly.

NOTICE OF AGM

The MLTC AGM will take place on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 8pm in the clubhouse.

We invite motions for consideration at the AGM and Committee nominations (citing proposers and seconders) to be submitted to the Honorary Secretary, in writing, by January 29th 2025.  Submissions can be communicated via the office at mltcsecretary@gmail.com.

 

 

LADIES WINTER LEAGUE & COACHING

Ladies winter league starts this Sunday 26th January.

MLTC have 8 teams registered from class 2 to class 7 .We have no class 5 team in this league.

Thank you to all the team captains for organising their teams and subs .

We wish all the teams the very best of luck in their league matches .

League coaching continues on Monday 27th at 7pm for teams 1 to 4 and Saturday 25th at 11am and 12 noon for teams 5 & 6 and 7 & 8 respectively. 

 

 

Men's WINTER LEAGUE - DLTC

Men's winter league tennis (doubles) kicks off this Sunday January 26. MLTC has entered four teams at class 2 (captain - Stephen O'Shea), class 3 (captain - Harry Crossan), class 4 (captain - Jack Stokes), and class 6 (Tim Stokes). Many thanks to all who have signed up to represent MLTC as players or substitutes. The fixtures this weeks are as follows.  Great if you have time to come along and support our club teams in action. Best of luck teams. Go MLTC !! 

  • Team 1 / class 2:  Meadowvale ( Away - 11am)

·  Team 2 / class 3:  De Vesci (Home - 11am)

·  Team 3 / class 4:  Lansdowne (Home - 11am)

·  Team 4 / class 6:  Donnybrook  (Home - 9:30am)

 

EASTER CUP - Men's Doubles Tennis

The Easter Cup is an inter club men's doubles tennis competition - all local tennis clubs. This competition is geared towards players (aged 35 and over) who are not nominated players for the DLTC winter leagues. Matches will be played on Saturday mornings at 11am in February and March. This competition is lots of fun. Please do sign up - as a team player or substitute. To sign up or ask any question - ping Bill Sadlier , Dermot Hayes , or Declan Cotter

 

 

MEN’S COACHING – Monday Evenings

A reminder that coaching for class 4 to class 7 players runs every Monday evening at 9pm.  New members / players are always welcome - come along and give it a go!  The younger lads are welcome too! The dads might even bring their sons along!  Any questions - please contact Declan C

 

LADIES MORNING    

Ladies Morning from 10am to 12 next Wednesday will be hosted by Vera Sheehan. 

Please come along and enjoy tennis coffee and chat.

MEN’S MORNING – Sunday Mornings

Men's Morning will be on this Sunday 10am to 12.  Do come down and have a hit and a coffee! 

 

 

CLUB NIGHT – Thursday Evenings

Club night will be on tonight!  Pop down any time between 8pm and 10pm for a social game and Stephen will get things started at 8pm

BIG CONGRATULATIONS ARE IN ORDER FOR YOUNG RICHIE KENNEDY WHO WON THE JUNIOR TOUR 500 U/12 SINGLES EVENT PLAYED IN ATHLONE LAST WEEKEND.   SUPER WIN, RICHIE!

 

OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKENDS THE RED / ORANGE/ GREEN BALL LEINSTER TOUR IS BEING PLAYED AND WE WISH ELODIE O'TOOLE THE VERY BEST OF LUCK. KEEP THE MONKSTOWN FLAG FLYING ELODIE!

 

WINTER LEAGUE IS UPON US WITH BOTH MENS' AND LADIES MATCHES STARTING THIS SUNDAY - 26TH.  MENS' MATCHES IN THE MORNING AND LADIES IN THE AFTERNOON...THERE'S ALWAYS SOME GOOD TENNIS ON VIEW, SO POP DOWN AND SUPPORT THEM.

 

WHAT A WIN FOR CUALA IN THE ALL IRELAND CLUB FINAL LAST SUNDAY.  OUR OWN CHARLIE MC MORROW PLAYED NO MEAN PART IN THEIR SUPER WIN.  CHARLIE'S AMAZING SPORTING CAREER ALL STARTED HERE IN MONKSTOWN  -  IF HE'S AVAILABLE HE'LL BE PLAYING A COUPLE OF WINTER LEAGUE MATCHES FOR US  -  WORTH WATCHING!
