Newsflash – Draws Published for Senior Championships

Hi Everyone,

The draws for the Senior Championships have been published.  Please review and ensure that your entry details are correct.

Matches will start on the evening of Friday 12th August.  The schedule for Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be published in the next couple of days. Please keep an eye on the website.

Match Format - Doubles

  • A Championship Tie Break will be played instead of a 3rd Set (first to 10 points, with an advantage of 2 or more points)

  • The introduction of the championship tie break, instead of a 3rd set, moves us in line with professional doubles tournaments around the world and many of the Tennis Ireland competitions.

  • Note: In the first two sets, if the score reaches six games all, a Set Tie Break will be played (first to 7 points, with an advantage of 2 or more points)

Match Format - Singles

  • Three full sets will be played.

  • In any of the three sets, if the score reaches six games all, a Set Tie Break will be played (first to 7 points, with an advantage of 2 or more points)

  • This format applies to the main singles draw, u21s and o40s. Format for Plates/Bowls to be confirmed.

Please note, the championship Café will not open until Monday 15th, so on Friday 12th, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th, you will be able to make tea and coffee in the kitchen, but there will be no catering.
