Club Notices

How happy we all are that there is a little lift in the air this week with lovely spring like weather which is making the club look so well with even our roses still blooming.   It is great to see people back having coffee in the function room and we just ask that everyone continues to clean all surfaces, and to wear a mask if coming in to use the bathroom or to use the light card machine.

Subs

The annual subscription can be paid via Easy Payments and is now due. Please contact Anne Crossan in the office if you have any queries regarding the payment method.

Winter League

The Winter League kicks off this weekend and Monkstown have 8 ladies teams and 6 men’s teams taking part. This Sunday both our Ladies and Men’s 1st teams will be ‘At Home’ so please come down to the club to watch some great tennis.  The teams would love your support.  Our Men’s 1st team play at 11am against Leopardstown, and our Ladies 1st team, following their promotion to Class 1 last November, will be playing Carrickmines at 2pm.   Do remember to drop in if you are free.  There will be limited availability of courts on Sundays through the day for the next five weeks.  Best of Luck to all our teams.  Clodagh & Craig. 

Senior Coaching

General Senior Coaching (Early Risers, Ladies Morning & Lunch time sessions, Men’s Thursday evening)

The next term of General Senior Coaching starts on the 7th of February and will run for a total of 6 sessions.  There will be a break during mid-term and for St. Patricks day.

The cost for the 6 sessions will be €54.  Please note that we need a minimum of 6 people signed up for the sessions to go ahead. 

These will be available to book on Easy Payments from Monday 31st January at 11.00am.  See details of each session below.

League Coaching (Ladies on Monday and Thursday evenings at 7pm and Men on Monday evenings at 8pm)

These coaching sessions are proving very popular and the next set of sessions will run from the week commencing 7th February for 3 weeks.  Note:  There will be no break for Mid-Term.  The sessions may be booked individually on Easy Payments from Monday 31stJanuary at 11.00am at a cost of €10 each.  See details below.

Ladies morning Tennis 

Ladies Morning on a Wednesday morning is a long-standing tradition at MLTC, however the numbers attending have been dwindling over the past few months.  We would like to gather your feedback as to whether it should continue in its current format or if it needs a refresh. After two years, we are delighted to be able to organise the Ladies Valentine’s Tournament on Wednesday 9th February.  There will be lots of great tennis, fun and prizes to be won.  The sign-up sheet will be on the notice board from tomorrow and closing date is February 6th – so get signing. 

Junior Committee

There is a call out for some more parents to come onto the junior committee. This committee works to promote and develop tennis for our juniors, organises the Stars and Strips competition and other events, works closely with coaches, and ensures our child protection policies are adhered to. Parking

Please can members leave the parking bay closest to the club free on Mon – Wed afternoons from 2 – 5pm as it is reserved for disability parking.  Thank you

Men’s Morning

This Sunday - courts 2 and 3 will be available for men’s morning tennis from 9 – 11am.

Club Night

Club night tonight will be hosted by Isabella Davison. Do come along as it promises to be a lovely evening and we will have Stephen giving some coaching support at the beginning of the evening.  If anyone is willing to host a club night – please put your name on the Rota in the function room or contact Isabella.
