Dear Members

This week we wanted to acknowledge the lovely statue that was presented to the club by the family of our former member Betty Rafferty who passed away in June 2021. Many of the ladies will remember Betty very fondly and it was one of her wishes that MLTC would be given this lovely little statue for our garden, which thanks to Arek and Declan Cotter has now found its new home to the front of the clubhouse. We would like to thank all the Rafferty family for their generosity

ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION

We remind members that your annual subscription is now due. All members should have received an invoice by email and payment methods were outlined in the email to members on 10th January.

If members wish to pay by one of the new instalment options, you will need to sign up by 27th February on Easy Payments (EasyPayments)

Alternatively full payment needs to be made by 1st March 2023 by Easy Payments or by bank transfer to  IBAN:    IE78AIBK93340619412487    BIC:       AIBKIE2D

Members seeking Leave of Absence need to apply as soon as possible and will be required to pay a fee of €50pa.  (No fee applies to those who request LOA due to illness)

BLUE AND GOLD TOURNAMENT- SIGN UP BY WED 8th February.
The sign up sheet for the Blue and Gold tournament is now on the board.  This is a social mixed doubles tournament played between local clubs on Friday evenings over 5 weeks starting 24th February.

We need 16 players (6 ladies, 8 men) who will make up two MLTC teams which will comprise various classes (Class 3/4, Class 5/6, Class 7 and non-league).

TENNIS & SALSA EVENING EVENT

We are looking forward to this event which is now fully booked.  If you have registered for the event please arrive at the club no later than 7.30 on Thursday 9th February.  BYOB.

WINTER LEAGUE

Winter League takes a break this weekend for the bank holiday weekend and resumes on Sunday 12th February.

MENS MORNING 

Mens Morning will run from the usual time of 10am – 12am this Sunday.

Lovely sunny day for the ‘Mens Shed’ Tuesday players!

EASTER  CUP

The Easter Cup is an inter club competition aimed at men not playing in the winter league.

It is generally run between 8 and 10 teams from clubs in south Dublin competing on Saturday afternoons from mid February until Easter.

Please look out for the sign-up sheet on the club noticeboard.  

CLUB NIGHT
Club night will be on this evening from 8pm starting with a warm up /coaching session with Stephen.  Forecast is good so come on down and join in – all standards welcome!

LADIES MORNING  - Valentine’s Tournament 

A friendly reminder that there are only a few days to go to sign up for the Valentine’s tournament taking place next Wed 8th February. The closing date for entry is this Sunday 5th February.  The sign up sheet is up on the board opposite the clubhouse door. If you're unable to make it to the club to put your name down, please don’t hesitate to contact one of the Ladies Committee members or text Elaine on 083 4569567.

 There is a €10 entry payment which will be donated to charity. The charity is CRY which raises awareness of the condition known as Sudden Cardiac Death or Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.  Payment can be made on the day. 

There will also be a prize for the best dressed player so get those red and heart themed costumes ready!

REMINDER AS PER LAST WEEK:  NEW DOOR PAD & CODE

We have had a new keypad installed – it is to the left of the door.

The code is 1,4,7,8.   When exiting, wave your hand beside the sensor to the right of the door to release the lock.

PARKING

Could all members please refrain from parking on the double yellow lines in the driveway – There must be access for emergency services at all times.

UPDATE FROM COACH STEPHEN

The very best of luck to the Ireland Davis Cup team as they take on Peru in the World Group 1 playoffs from 3rd - 5th February.

The non playing Captain is our own  Conor Niland.
