MLTC NEWSLETTER 5TH DECEMBER 2024

2025 Membership Subscriptions

All annual subscription invoices were emailed to members on 3rd December.  If you have not received the invoice, can you please check your spam folder, or contact the office.

CAPTAINS CHRISTMAS CRAIC….ER 

Sunday 15th December 4 to 7pm

This promises to be a super fun event for a few hours on Sunday 15th December from 4pm.

Back by popular demand are the Juke Brothers , amazing guitar playing duo who had the clubhouse rocking on Captains day last April.

Please come along and join in the fun.

This event is supplemented by the Captains Kitty

Live entertainment drinks & nibbles for only 10 euro.

All young adults invited for free.Come and join Captains Jacqui & Declan and celebrate Christmas in a different way in Monkstown Tennis Club.

We would love to see you there  as we guarantee this will be another great event.

WINTER LEAGUE 2025

Sign up sheets are on the board for winter league.MLTC have 8 teams registered.

Please sign up to be considered as a named player,squad (min 2 matches) or sub.

To be considered as a named player you must be available for a minimum of 3 matches.

Matches are on Sunday afternoons from 26th January 2025.

Please tick the weeks you are  available on the sign up sheet or advise Jacqui directly.

MLTC SPORTSWEAR

We are preparing the order for 2025 sportswear now so we will have it in plenty of time for all leagues next year (would also make great Xmas presents!)

If you would like to purchase any item of clothing please email me at legan1413@icloud.com with your name, description and size of the garment. 

Then on Friday 13th December when the order is complete I will ask you to Revolut me the payment.

LADIES DOUBLES BOX COMPETITION

Lots of great competitive matches being played.

Don't forget the deadline for all matches to be played is Wednesday 18th December for prize giving on Friday 20th December.

If you are not able to play ALL 4 matches by the deadline you will forfeit all your points so please arrange your matches in time.

LADIES MORNING         

Ladies Morning next week will be the last one until the New Year and is kindly being hosted by Angela Corkery and Jane O’Rourke. 

CHARITY LEAGUE

Sadly our two Monday Charity League teams lost their semifinals.  They battled hard and there were some great matches well done all on making it to the semifinals 

JUNIOR COACHING

Please note, coaching will finish next week and that covers all rained off sessions.

MEN’S COACHING – Monday Evenings

A reminder that coaching for class 4 to class 7 players runs every Monday evening at 9pm. Next session will be on Monday Dec 9th  New members / players are always welcome - come along and give it a go!!  The younger lads are welcome too!! The dads might even bring their sons along!  Any questions - please contact men's captain Declan

CLUB NIGHT – Thursday Evenings

Club night will start at 8pm as usual tonight, so do come along anytime between 8pm and 10pm for a social game, and Stephen will get things started at 8pm! 

 MEN’S MORNING – Sunday Mornings

Men's tennis morning on this Sunday morning 10am to 12.  Do come down and have a hit and a coffee!  

THE LADIES CHRISTMAS BUBBLES & SPARKLES PARTY

A brilliant night was had by all at The Ladies Christmas Party and we got amazing feedback.  Everyone praised how wonderful the club looked with a fabulous tree and decor. The new format worked so well.  Very easy to get around and chat with plenty of seating and the sound has been hugely improved.  Food and drink were great - and plenty of both!

Glitter and glamour was there in spades and the dancing and singing was brilliant fun! 

ORANGE & GREEN BALL TOURNAMENT

Monkstown held the Tennis Ireland orange & green ball event last Sunday 1st December.

Stephen and Jana organised over 30 kids from different clubs that took part in the event including 15 kids from our own club.

For some it was the first time ever competing in the Tennis Ireland event and they did brilliantly. Sun was shining on the day and all kids had a great fun playing some superb tennis.
