Busy week coming up with both the Junior and the Senior Champions starting.

Please be aware that many courts are booked for these events but courts are still bookable Monday to Friday 7-10am, 1-2pm, and 5-6pm.

Senior Championships

‘At Home’ Dinner – Saturday 27th August

Our biggest social event of the year is coming up on Saturday August 27th. The “At home” dinner will not actually held here in the club, but at the beautiful Royal Irish Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire. The evening will begin with a drinks reception and prize-giving for the club Championships. A formal dinner follows, with a DJ afterwards to keep the party going.

Tickets are priced as last year at, €55pp will be available now on Easy Payments in the coming days.

Men’s Morning

No Mens morning this week as courts needed for championship matches but courts are available until 10am.

Club Nite

This evening from 8 – 10pm. Make the most of this beautiful weather to come down and have a game!

Juniors

Hard to believe, but here we are heading into the last tournament of the summer.. The Irish Junior Championships in Fitzwilliam next week.

Monkstown Juniors have, over the years, produced some great results so the very best of luck to Isobel & Zoe Craig, Rosie & Robyn Kennedy, Mary & Luke O’Callaghan, Hugo & Marcus Bourke, Anna Hayes, Lydia O’Connor, Andrew Schwer and William Hegarty as they show their talent in this prestigious event.

If you get the opportunity during the week you should pop in to Fitz to watch some great tennis from the up and coming juniors in the country.

Well done to all our juniors who were on the ‘Circuit’ this summer and represented Monkstown in such a sporting way both on and off the court… Thanks also to the parents who showed such enthusiasm in ferrying the kids to the various venues!

I’m looking forward to our own Junior Championships next week and hoping the mums and dads will come down to watch what should be an exciting week of really good tennis.

Adrienne Cusack is running the next camp which is on 22nd – 24 August.

10-11.30am 5 to 7 years

11.30 – 1pm 8 to 10 years

2 – 4 pm 11 to 12 years
