UPDATE FROM HEAD COACH STEPHEN
Exciting times for Robyn Kennedy who travelled to the Netherlands last week representing Ireland - & Monkstown LTC - to play in the Ten Pro Global Tour Dutch Bowl. It's the global tour with the highest participation rates for U/10 U/11 & U/12 Juniors.
It's played over a week and kids from 42 countries were represented. Robyn won 8 out of her 10 matches, reaching the Final in both the 2011 & 2010 age groups, beating the Belgian No 1 in one of her semi finals...what a performance Robyn!
Well done & great to see all your hard work paying off.
Yet more of our Juniors were playing on the circuit, with Rosie Kennedy & Zoe Craig qualifying for the European U/14 Junior tournament being played in DCU this week.
Charlie Carney was selected to play for Leinster v Munster in the U/11 Inter Pro
played last week - and as I write this Charlie is on court playing in the Kilkenny Open. Congrats to you all. A busy mid term for Mums & Dads!
We had good fun at the Camps this week - hope you all enjoyed them.
Back to school & routine next week!...
See you at coaching which resumes on Monday next.
Stephen
TRIBUTE
Dear Members,
We are sad to announce the death of James Flynn. After an unexpected and sudden diagnosis of cancer in late December, James died peacefully in the arms of his devastated family - Juanita, Alex and Anna.
James was a former member of MLTC and was very active from under 12’s up to his mid 20’s. He was a very accomplished tennis player and was well known to many of the current members. He remained close friends with some current members and he will be sadly missed.
James was also a distinguished Irish film producer and had huge success in both Film and TV productions. See links below.
May He Rest in Peace.
