If your child is bringing a friend to camp please book the friend in on Easy Payment under the Bring a Friend selection. We will then send you a form which it is necessary for the friend’s parent/guardian to fill out for insurance purposes.
TENNIS 4 CANCER EVENT & Raffle 06.04.2025
We are delighted to be hosting our Tennis for Cancer event in the club on Sunday 6th April. The event is a “Handbags and Glad Rags” ladies doubles tournament followed by lunch.
The format for the tennis competition is that there will be 8 teams of 6 players. Each team will consist of 1 pair of Class 2-3, 1 pair of Class 3-5 and 1 pair of all other levels so we are hoping for wide participation. There will be two groups and initial stages will be timed round robin matches (20 minutes) followed by semi-finals and a final. Tennis will start at 10 am sharp with lunch at 1pm.
We are also asking you to donate good quality “pre loved”
Coats, Jackets, Dresses, Handbags and Jewellery
which we will display and sell on the day - so you can browse the rails when you are off court or at lunch. We will be collecting these donations in advance of the day so we can have them ready to display on the day of the event.
We are also running a raffle – Top prizes are Jewellery from the Jewel Casket and a gift voucher for Pamela Scott. Tickets - €10 per strip of 5 - are available from Karen MacKenna, Catherine Keane or in the office. Payment can be by Revolut.
All proceeds will go to Tennis 4 Cancer charity which was set up by long time Monkstown member Grace Owens.
Sign up is now open on easy payments and we look forward to seeing lots of you on the day!! Entry fee is €30 for tennis plus lunch. You can also pop up anytime if you just want to browse the rails!

BLUE & GOLD - Mixed Event
Blue and Gold: 4 rounds have been played so far and very enjoyable tennis by all. Monkstown are delighted to be hosting the final and runner-up games. This has been scheduled for Friday April 4th
MEN’S WINTER LEAGUE
Our men’s 1st team play their semi-final against Malahide at home this Sunday, 23rd March at 11am.
It's a home game so let's get out to support the team !
MEN’S Easter Cup
With 5 weeks of matches played, we have a Bye this weekend to prepare for the last round match on 29th March against Shankill!
MEN’S COACHING – Monday Evenings
A reminder that coaching for class 4 to class 7 players runs every Monday evening at 9pm. New members / players are always welcome - come along and give it a go! The younger lads are welcome too! The dads might even bring their sons along! Any questions - please contact Declan C

Tennis next Wednesday morning at 10am and is being hosted by Carole Curtin.

Mens morning at the usual time of 10am to 12 this week so do come along for a hit and a coffee and chat after!
CLUB NIGHT – Thursday Evenings
Club night will be on tonight! Pop down any time between 8pm and 10pm for a social game and Stephen will give some coaching support at the beginning of the evening. This is an opportunity to meet and play with members of varying standards and is a relaxed evening of tennis.
STEPHEN’S UPDATE
Very best of luck to our Mens' 1st Team who take on Malahide 2nd's in the Semi Final of the Winter League this Sunday, 23rd, at 11am in Monkstown.
Nothing like the Monkstown support to get us over the line, so try and pop down & cheer us on!
The Ladies Charity League - Blue & Gold - Easter Cup & Junior Leagues are all nearing a conclusion, so give it your best shot for your last matches.
Well done to those Juniors who were on the 'circuit' over the Bank Holiday weekend ...from Limerick to Waterford to Tipperary - Sandycove and more!
Congrats to Charlie Carney - Michael Carney - Sam Carney - Daniel Carney - Luke O'Callaghan - Isabella O'Toole and a big shout out to Richie Kennedy who won the U/12 Junior tour 500 event in Waterford.
Robyn Kennedy, Rosie Kennedy and Sean Carney played in the Glasnevin Tour 500 event with Robyn winning the U16s title.
This weekend sees Elodie O'Toole - Emma Niland & Tom Niland compete in the Red / Orange / Green ball Leinster Tour.
Thanks so much to the parents for their encouragement & ferrying the kids around....great to see them get a feel for competitive tennis.
What more can we say about our own Sarah Healy...after her fantastic Gold Medal win in the European Indoor Championship 3000m two week ago, she now takes on the World's best 3000m athletes in the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, this Saturday, 22nd. Her run is scheduled for 11.05 am (approx) Irish Time and can be viewed live on BBC 2

Captain’s Day - Sunday May 11th Our amazing events team are busy organising the captains day. The theme is Italian and as usual there’ will be social tennis. dinner and dancing. Due to last year’s popularity, we have rebooked the Juke Brothers. Sign up via easy-payments will be in April.
