Note from Stephen O’Shea, Head Club Coach

It’s been a great week for our juniors who are on the ‘Circuit’!

Big congratulations to Rosie Kennedy on her selection to the Irish Team to play in the European Cup.  The event is being held in Rakovnic in the Czech Republic from the 20th-25th July.  Keep the Irish (and Monkstown) flag flying Rosie!

The East of Ireland Championships are on this week in Sutton and we have a good representation of Juniors playing with Isobel Craig in the U/16’s and Anna Hayes – just pipped in the ¼ final of the U/14’s – also in the U/14’s, Mary O’Callaghan plays her ¼ final match today as does Zoe Craig in the consolation singles ¼ final.  Zoe has also reached the final of the doubles.

In the U/12’s Robyn Kennedy – not to be outdone by her sister Rosie’s great achievement – plays her ¼ final match tomorrow..  she is also in the doubles semi final later today.  You sure are all doing us proud with those great results.

Andrew Schwer is also playing this week in the Tramore Junior Open…

Best of luck Andrew!

Mary O’Callaghan played in the Longford Junior Open last week and won the U/14 singles event… super performance Mary!

Well done to one and all – and to the Mums & Dads for ferrying them around.. keep the Monkstown flag flying!

 Stephen
