5 MILE LEAGUE - FINALS
Congratulations to Semin Sohers team who reached the finals of the 5 mile league. Unfortunately the team was narrowly defeated by Glenageary in a tight final last Sunday night. The MLTC players were Jillian O Rourke, Silvie Ryan, Sinead Moriarty, Semin Soher, Nickey Ambrose and Ruth Walker.
We were treated to some exciting matches over the course of the evening followed by some wonderful hospitality from GLTC. Well done to both Semin Sohers and Yvonne Suttons teams who represented Monkstown so well over the duration of the league.
TENNIS 4 CANCER
The funds raised by MLTC for the T4C Handbags and Gladrags event held recently in the club were formally presented to Grace Owens last weekend. The amount raised was €5200 which has been shared between Arc Cancer Support and National Breast Cancer Research. Thanks again goes to all those who organised the event and to all the members who so willingly supported the T4C and these important charities. Thanks also to Conor Niland for making the presentation to Grace!
CLUB NIGHT
Do come down to play some tennis at club night tonight – any time between 8 and 10pm!
COURTS 4, 5, 6
Court Root Update
The work on the roots is progressing well and we are hopeful it will be fully complete before the end of the week. At this point the contractors expect they will be finishing off the courts over the weekend so we will only have 3 courts available on Saturday.
It is essential that members cancel a court if they don’t plan to use it.

NOTICE OF SAD NEWS
We wish to extend our deepest condolences to the family of Michael McMorrow on his sad passing this week. Michael played very enthusiastically in many games and club events over a number of years until he sadly became ill some time ago. Mick was a larger than life character - always ready for the chat. Although beleaguered with ill health he never complained. He was so proud of Charlie & Orna as he watched them progress so well on the tennis court.
We extend our sympathies to his wife Deirdre and to his children Orna and Charlie.
His funeral Mass is on Saturday, 24th June, at 10-am in the Church of the Guardian Angels, Newtownpark Avenue.
May his gentle soul Rest in Peace.
