MLTC NEWSLETTER  27th FEBRUARY 2025

 MESSAGE FROM OUT-GOING CAPTAIN JACQUI

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone in the club for making my captaincy so enjoyable.

I can't believe it has gone so quickly and I am delighted to pass on to Colette Langan and wish her every success going forward. She’ll be a great captain

Nothing would be possible without the help of so many people.

Thank you to the core team of Declan my co-captain, Colette my vice, Ger Kane on events and her team, Anne Tweedy for her help and commitment during the club handicaps and championships, Carol & Anne in the office and to Adrienne Cusack and Aoife Stokes for their constant friendship and support

Others to thank are the club president Richard Keevey and the executive committee, league team captains, league selection committee, head coach Stephen O'Shea  and everyone who helped during the club tournaments with sign in, the tournament cafe and on finals day.

Thank you for supporting all our tennis and social initiatives during the year which we hope you enjoyed and for the many personal texts, cards and gifts I have received during the last week.

The club is only as good as the membership so thank you to all  members for your participation, positivity and support during the year.

 Best wishes to everyone,  Jacqui

MESSAGE FROM THE NEW CAPTAINS – Dermot and Colette

As we take on our new roles, we want to reassure everyone we are committed and very much looking forward to making the next 12 months an enjoyable, fun, competitive and of course great tennis for all members.

We would like to thank Jacqui and Declan for the incredible work they put into the last year.  In everything they did, they did it to the highest standard while making it look easy which we know, at times wasn’t the case.  We have very big shoes to fill, but we look forward to it.

We want to thank Noreen and Bill for agreeing to take on the vice Captains role, we know the club will be in great hands for 2026.

We are so grateful to Aoife O’Shea and Bronwyn Stapleton in agreeing to coordinate the events team of Anne Considine, Carole Curtin, Elaine O’Toole, Emily Kelly, Evelyn Ging and Genevieve Conway, its going to be a great year.

Finally, to MLTC members there are many events over the year, some social and some more competitive, we endeavour to ensure both are successful and enjoyed by all. We look forward to working with you and making 2025 a great success.

CLEAN KITCHEN - HAPPY MEMBERS!

The kitchen was given a professional deep clean last week - so with various League matches taking place back to back on Friday nights, over the weekend and first thing Monday/Tuesday mornings, it's more important than ever to leave the kitchen and club room clean & tidy after events, with all necessary crockery/cutlery clean,  coffee/teapots emptied and rinsed out and floor swept.

Thanks in advance for everyone's cooperation😀
