Attention: Tennis Footwear

We would ask members to ensure they were the appropriate tennis footwear when playing on court. Tennis shoes should have good soles and be appropriate for the savannah surface we have in MLTC. Trainers or running shoes may not provide adequate grip on the tennis courts.

Senior League

Congratulations to our men’s Senior League Class 1 O.35 who played in the finals in Castleknock last Sunday.  Unfortunately they were beaten 2/1 by a very strong Templeogue team.

The team on the day was: Stephen O’Shea and Robin Craig,  Johnny O’Shea & Ciaran Dolan, Rob Kennedy & Peter O’Leary.  Mickey Mac and Scott Barron couldn’t make the finals as they were representing Ireland in The Potter Cup.  Justin McCabe and Jonathan Dalton also subbed in earlier rounds.

League Balls

We would like to remind members that the €10 Tennis Balls fee for Senior, Junior, Floodlit and Charity League is now due. Please can you pay through Easy Payments where each specific league is noted. Many Thanks

LADIES’ COMMITTEE NEWS

Halloween Tournament

We had a great turnout yesterday for our Spooktacular Halloween Tournament. The weather gods were kind – there was some great tennis played in glorious sunshine with some players wearing a variety of costumes ranging from a zombie schoolgirl to an orange-themed witch – the latter costume of which was worn by Angela Corkery who won the Halloween-themed best-dressed player!

Charity League

It was another successful week for MLTC with a win for Fiona’s team in the Advanced League and a win for Carole’s team in the Monday Non-League. The other teams did not have matches this week.
