Newsflash - Senior Handicaps Tournament

Preparations are well underway for our first tournament of the Summer. This Senior Handicaps is a fun competition open to everyone, and we encourage you to enter regardless your level of tennis. The only entry criterion is to be over 18 years of age on the 1st of January 2022. Entries will be open for Men’s and Ladies Singles, Men’s and Ladies Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Players are assigned a partner for the Doubles events and every player or pair are given a handicap which makes for exciting tennis. For those knocked out in the first round, there are the Plate competitions in the Double’s events. Lots of chances to play and to Win!

The tournament runs from Monday July 11th through to Finals Day on Saturday 23rd.   Matches will mostly be played on weeknight evenings, and we look forward to having supporters and spectators come along for the great Monkstown atmosphere during the tournament. The Handicaps BBQ will be Saturday 23rd after Finals Day.  Always one of the most popular nights of the year and we can’t wait!

Sarah and Isabella will be recruiting volunteers to run the MLTC Handicaps Café during tournament evenings – There are tasty treats planned, so a full roster of volunteers is needed to run the café.  We are very welcoming of younger members (16+) who might like this kind of work experience too.  If you have availability to help with this, please text Isabella on 087 2194844.
