Newsflash - Senior Handicaps Tournament 2021

This year’s Senior Handicaps Tournament will run from Monday 12th of July through to Saturday 24th of  July (including the weekend of 17th and 18th).

Events will include Ladies and Men’s singles, Ladies and Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.   In addition, there will be a plate event for Mixed Doubles.  There’ll be a draw for pairings for doubles events so no partners required.  Format for matches will be the best of 3 short sets.

Sign up and payment for the tournament is on line this year through Tennis Ireland tournament software.  It’ll be open from 6pm on Friday 25th of June and the deadline for entries will be 6pm on Monday the 5th of July. 

Please note that to enter the tournament you’ll need to register with Tennis Ireland to create an online account and receive a Tennis Ireland PIN (TI Pin) if you don’t already have one. To register, go to: https://ti.tournamentsoftware.com  click on ‘Log in’ on the top right hand corner, then click the ‘Sign up’ option and follow the steps to create your account.  Once you are logged in, your name will appear on the top right-hand corner of your screen.

Finals day will be on Saturday 24th of July followed by a BBQ at the Club and prize giving that evening.

The Club would like to take the opportunity to support Grace Owen’s TENNIS4CANCER Charities (ARC Cancer Support Services and National Breast Cancer Research Institute).   T4C is currently endorsed by Tennis Ireland.  Donation buckets will be available throughout the tournament.

As usual Covid 19 rules apply.  Our Covid Officer will update us closer to the time about the possibility of allowing people to come and watch the matches.  

We look forward to a big entry in the event this year.  It’s always a very social tournament, a great way to meet new members and an opportunity to play with a variety of club members you don’t usually play with.  So come and join us for some social (and sometimes very competitive!) tennis.
