Snippets 16/07/20

Despite pretty miserable weather early on in the week, the Senior Handicaps are well under way.  Certainly the lockdown hasn't deterred people's competitiveness!  Lots of three setters!


Helen & Ciaran tell me that a Plate event will be held for 1st round losers in the mixed doubles.
The draw will be made this evening and will be published on the website after 9 o'clock.
All first round matches will be scheduled for Saturday...so you must be available to play on that day. Well done to Helen & Ciaran for their hard work in getting the Handicaps up & running...ably assisted by Anne (Tweedy) Thanks also to the people who have volunteered to do "Check in" duty each evening.

A reminder that the deadline for entry forms for the Junior Championships is tomorrow the 17th....so get that form in!

After a very successful month of Tennis camps in July, Stephen will run two more in August and Adrienne will run her traditional Camp during the last week in August..

To end with, another honour for two members of MLTC!  Last Saturday at the IC (International Club) AGM  Gina (Niland) was elected President of The IC of Ireland  - with Lisa (O'Shea) being elected Secretary.  Congrats Ladies! Players are invited to become members of the IC once they have represented their country. They take part in multiple fixtures throughout the year against other nation's IC clubs. The prestigious Potter Cup, which the Irish Men won last year - and included our own Scott Barron - comes under the IC umbrella of events. Many of the world's former top players regularly tog out for their IC now. An exciting year ahead of you, Gina & Lisa!
