Hi Folks!
What weather both the Senior and Junior Handicaps are having for their tournament!
It's Junior Handicap Finals day today and it's just heavenly watching the finalists play their matches watched by Mums - Dads - Granny & Grandads! What a holiday atmosphere! A big thank you to Adrienne - ably assisted by Ellie - for organising such a super week of tennis.
Congratulations to all Winners & participants... there would be no tournament without all of you who entered!
Stephen's next Camp starts on Monday next the 19th...please remember to submit a Covid form for your child before Monday...also bring a snack / drink....thanks a mil!
A message from your captains'- .We've enjoyed super weather for the first week of the Senior Handicap Tournament..very competitive tennis with lots of close matches. A reminder that the matches are running through the weekend, so keep a close eye on the schedule. Remember to keep an eye on the court booking system...courts could be freed up at very short notice - so if you fancy a last minute game you might be lucky!
The tournament will finish up with Finals Day on Sat 24th July with a BBQ that evening. Caroline & Sonya are beavering away in the background to organise the event. Places are filling up, so sign up to avoid disappointment. Booking is through Easy Payments .
Supporters are welcome to come and watch the matches, bring along a few beers and enjoy the good weather (while being mindful of Covid guidelines). We'd love to capture some of the atmosphere through casual photos, so please take a few and forward your favourites to the office email.
As previously mentioned, we've committed to supporting Grace Owens' Tennis4cancer charity. The donation buckets are available at sign in, so please remember to bring along some money to support this very worthwhile fundraiser.

Exciting times for our No 1 player Conor Gannon....his dream of heading to college in the States came true last Wednesday...he has secured a place in a brilliant college in Tennessee, has arrived safely and settled in already! We all wish you the very best of luck Conor as you embark on this major part of your career. Your loyalty to Monkstown LTC has been incredible.. ......but boy will the lads miss you for the 2020 Winter League Final on Sunday 25th!
Stephen recorded a really interesting conversation with the 1987 Wimbledon Champion Pat Cash this week. They covered a lot of topics during their 45 minute chat, including a special segment during the last 10 minutes of the interview, where Pat fields questions that Stephen had received from Junior members of Monkstown! A big thrill for those kiddies no doubt. You can watch the full interview on Stephen's You Tube channel

That's it for this week...Enjoy the sunshine & keep smiling!
Warm regards
