Hi Folks!

Well I'm still here!...looking out the window at clear blue skies on your beautifully kept (by Arek) empty tennis courts...all I can do is keep hoping that sooner rather than later the gates will open to welcome you all again.

I hear the Lockdown Fitness Challenge, organised by Caroline & Sonya, is proving a great success - despite a "challenging" start with such rotten weather conditions last week all 6 teams came through with terrific scores as follows:

Clodagh's Team Federer in top position with 859 km  (surprise, surprise!!)

Caroline's Team Williams - 757 km

Karen (Iv)'s Team Seles - 756  km

Sonya's Team Agassi - 734 km

Eoin's Team Murray - 630 km

Denise's Team Graf - 608 km

All pretty close after week 1....I believe one of Karen's team members came in at 104 km for the week, so that's setting the bar very high for those who want to challenge themselves!!

Well done to everyone ...it certainly has brought back the old Monkstown camaraderie and competitiveness again!

Denise, from the Health and Safety Committee, gave a Manual Handling Training Course to the Coaches and Staff yesterday - with demonstrations being held outdoors.  It was very informative and good to get a Certificate at the end of it.  Many thanks Denise.

Love is still in the air despite being isolated for so long! ..the lovely Fiona Sheil (Grace & Michael's daughter and former member) became engaged to her beau Andrew.  We wish you both a life full of love and happiness.

That's it for this week....we're getting closer to "D" day...so stay positive and take care.

 Warm regards

 Judy
