As if the weather wasn't miserable enough for the Championships - we now can't come to the club and watch the matches due to the new COVID restrictions announced on Tuesday last. So disappointing for all of us - let alone the competitors.  Ciaran & Helen you're having a tough time of it!  Our club's COVID-19 Officer, Jacqui McCabe, will update you with the latest guidelines in an email which will be issued today.

Best of luck to all the competitors who have to play under these strange circumstances.

The Irish Junior Championships are being held in Fitzwilliam this week and traditionally  a big group of Monkstown supporters descend on Fitz during the week...this has all been denied as well...but lets not forget our representatives in Conor ( U/18) - Cliodna (U/16) and Scott (U/14)

Singles events only this year.  Conor is seeded 2 - Cliodna is seeded 1  and young Scott ( still only 12) in his 1st year U/14 beat the No 4 seed yesterday.  All three play their 1/4 finals today...Very best of luck to you all...we'll be with you in spirit!

Young Rosie & Robyn Kennedy headed off on the circuit last week to Westport where the Open was taking place...both performed really well, with Robyn winning the U/10's event and Rosie being pipped by the No 2 seed in the U/12 girl's singles. Great start to your career!

Isobel & Zoe Craig  headed off this week....they've gone up North  to Letterkenny.. and as we speak Isobel is playing her Semi Final U/14 - and Zoe is playing her U/12 1/4 Final.. very best of luck Girls!...the Monkstown flag is flying countrywide!

Adrienne's Camp starts next Monday 24th.  Karen continues as Supervisor for one more week - and then school - DV!  Details of Group Coaching will be confirmed next week - but should follow along the lines of last year.

Just to be mindful of the Covid guidelines when you're in the club...sanitize your hands on arrival and keep your distance. Full guidelines can be viewed on the website.

That's it for this week....hope those on holidays will get a little sunshine over the next few days.
