Snippets 23/04/20

Well another week nearer to opening day....whenever that may be! Anyway how lucky we are with the weather to help get our heads around these challenging times.

Another casualty of the Covid-19 crisis is the cancellation of the Potter Cup. The Potter Cup is run by the International Club, a global organisation that operates events for players who had represented their country at Junior, Senior or Veteran level. The Irish Men's team, which included our own Scott Barron, won this prestigious event for the very first time last year. This year's event was due to take place in Barcelona at the end of May.  Three of our members were chosen to play on the Potter Cup team this year - Scott Barron on the men's side with Lisa O'Shea and Gina Niland on the women's side...with Lisa being nominated to Captain the Ladies team...Roll on Potter Cup 2021!

As I go about my work in the office I am, as always, listening to Sean O'Rourke... I can't imagine what 10am - 12 noon will be like from the 8th May...Sean you've left us all in shock!

Sean has been a member of the club since 1999 when he and his wife Caroline joined as family members. Although Sean only played a spectator's role maybe now he will  take to the tennis court and follow in the footsteps of his talented children..Aisling - Maeve - Kevin - Declan - Sean jnr and Fergus! Enjoy your well deserved retirement Sean...you'll be sorely missed by many.

More new arrivals this week!  John & Kim Brennan welcome baby Jack..congrats!

Another Grandchild for Brendan & Eleanor Ryan - and nephew for Greg - with the arrival of baby Kate to Justin & Louise.....congrats all round.
