Captains’ Day
A big thank you to all those who helped make an absolutely super Captains’ Day to remember. A very successful afternoon of tennis which saw Noreen and Ella, Ellen and Eoin being the overall winners. Isabella and Sarah organised amazing food (lemonade, strawberries, canapés, Asian food bowl and desert), along with beautiful decor, flowers and a wonderful ambience – a really big thank you to them both for their hard work, it was much appreciated by the captains and all the members.
I know Craig and Clodagh along with former captains Helen, Eoin and Karen had a super day too and following two years where we could not have a Captains’ Day, it was all the more successful and a truly happy occasion.
Summer League
The summer league is producing some really exciting games and I gather our men’s first team playing in Fitzwilliam welcomed back Conor Gannon after his first year of studies in the US. The men’s teams recording 4 good wins at the weekend with the ladies also securing good points in their respective matches with some exceptionally strong performances.
Men’s Morning
Courts 4, 5, and 6 will be available this Sunday from 10am - 12 noon
Ladies Tennis
5 Mile League
Delighted that our team came away with a win last Sunday. Best of luck to the team this Sunday evening.
Ladies Social Tennis
The last ladies morning tennis of the season was held on Wednesday. There has been a great turnout the last few weeks and so ladies morning tennis will be returning in September.
Junior News
The Junior Committee are reminding you of the very popular Parent and Child Tournament which will be held on Monday 6th June from 12 – 3pm. The sign-up sheet is on the notice board and the contribution will be €20 per family entering. The funds raised will be in aid of T4C (Tennis for Cancer) which is headed up by our own club member Grace Owens. Please bring along a plate of goodies if you are attending.
A reminder also that the Summer Camp schedule is on the website and booking can be made via Easy Payments. `
Club Night
Club night tonight will be hosted by Susie Kennelly. Do come along on a lovely bright evening with an opportunity to meet and play with members of varying standards for a relaxed evening of tennis.
Hope you all have a good weekend and enjoy the rugby – let’s hope Leinster can go one step further this year!
