MLTC Club Notices
This week we sadly learnt of the passing of Ray McDonnell a former Men’s Captain (‘77) and President of MLTC (85-87). He was affectionately known as the “Wee Cracker” was full of fun and a real character! We extend our sympathies to his wife Breige and his family at this sad time.
Tennis 4 Cancer event Rescheduled October 13th
Our rescheduled Tennis 4 Cancer event is now Thursday October 13th at 7.30pm.
We really hope you can make it. Patricia Gibney is the guest speaker – a bestselling author whose writing career began after losing her husband to cancer. And, of course we will have some delicious treats, fine wine, and the opportunity to meet our friends in the club for a lovely social occasion supporting T4C.
Tickets:
If you already have a ticket, and you can come along on the 13th October, then no need to do anything, we’ll be in contact soon to confirm that you will attend on the new date.
There will be some extra tickets available on Easy Payments for the new date – this will be open until the morning of October 12th or until tickets are fully sold.
If you are unable to attend the new date and would like a refund, please make contact with the office to arrange this.
Ladies Doubles Box Matches
The popular Doubles Box Matches are starting up again. They provide everyone with the opportunity to play doubles with different partners in fun, but competitive matches.

The format is as follows:

* Entry is open to everyone, and you will be placed in a box as close as possible to your league / non-league level.
* Each player will play with a different partner for each match.
* Each match will be the best of 11 games and played within one hour.
* Each player will accrue the number of games they win in each match and the overall number of games totalled across all matches.

Clodagh hopes many of you will sign up and enjoy the competition.
