CAPTAINS UPDATE – HANDICAPS & BBQ
A great start to the club handicaps
There is a great atmosphere around the club with everyone enjoying the socialising and the tennis.
Today is day 4 and we have a packed schedule over the next 10 days.
Please check tournament software as we are regularly updating the schedule.
We ask you to please turn up at least 10 minutes before your match so we can manage the courts as efficiently as possible.
The number of entries and the complexity of scheduling matches due to unavailabilities, means some matches need to be played this Saturday and Sunday .
Please keep checking the tournament software .
The Center Court cafe is celebrating 4th July Independence Day with an American themed menu.
Come and enjoy hotdogs , nachos, apple pie and lots of other American favourites.
Finally don't forget to sign up for the handicap Wimbledon BBQ on Saturday 13th July at the club.
Places are selling fast so don't miss out on a fun evening with a fab BBQ menu and live music .
See poster below for details.

UPDATE FROM STEPHEN
The summer holidays are here (despite the weather!) and I'm having a great week with the first Tennis Camp...good fun, yet the kids are learning lots of tennis tips.
The next Camp is 22nd - 25th July incl. Sign up on easy payments - & don't forget you can bring a friend who is not a member.
The Junior Handicap tournament takes place next week. Good luck to all and enjoy the competition.
Mary O'Callaghan reached the final of the Leinster Junior 500 tour played in Lansdowne last Friday. She was just pipped to win the title. Congrats Mary on a super week.
Another great result was Daniel Carney being Runner up in the National matchplay U/10 event played in DCU. Well done Daniel - you did us proud!
The Senior Handicaps are now in full swing with lots of activity each night both on and off the court. Good luck Jacqui and Declan - a lot of hard work goes into the organisation of this event.
Our own Sarah Healy had a fantastic run in the National Senior Athletic Championships held in Santry last weekend. She won Gold in the 800m against a very strong field. Having qualified for the 1500m in the Olympics, this super win will add to her confidence. Next stop Paris, Sarah!
And finally it was great to see so many members supporting one of our own - Sinead Moriarty - at the launch of her latest novel "GOOD SISTERS" yesterday evening. A busy, but very successful, couple of weeks for Sinead as she was on the team who won the 5 Mile League and is also currently playing in the Handicaps!
Very best of luck with the book, Sinead - another 'must' for holiday reading.
All the best Stephen
