President's Update: Phase 2 Re-Opening

Dear Members,

The Committee have worked very hard to get us all on court again and as we enter into Phase 2 of the re-opening, we appreciate that members are adhering to the guidelines. Richard Fahey from Tennis Ireland is committed to lobbying the Department of Sport to allow normal doubles play resume sooner rather than later.

All of the rules currently in place remain effective with the following changes:

  • Members living within 20km may now play.

  • Juniors under the age of 14 must be supervised by a parent / guardian.

For now, players can still only play singles. Doubles exceptions continue as is.

In addition, the club house and toilet facilities will remain closed. Parking will not be permitted on the driveway.

As the Club is operating at full capacity, we have amended our opening and coaching hours to make more courts available, and we are also adding additional hours for our Juniors.

We ask all members to restrict themselves to one game per day with the exception of those who play with their children during Junior hours.

From June 8th, the Club opening times will be extended as follows:

  • Weekdays: 8am – 10pm

  • Saturdays: 8am – 8pm

  • Sundays: 9am – 8pm

Court times are as follows:

SENIORS

  • Mon – Fri: 8am – 2pm & 5pm – 10pm

  • Saturday: 8am – 2pm & 5pm – 8pm

  • Sunday: 9am – 2pm & 5pm – 8pm

JUNIORS (U/14s to be accompanied by a parent / guardian)

  • Mon – Fri: 2pm – 7pm

  • Saturday & Sunday: 2pm – 8pm

For the last two weeks of June, we will have Junior supervision in the afternoons, but under 14s must still be accompanied by a parent / guardian.

FAMILIES

  • Mon - Sun: 2pm – 5pm

We hope to be in a position to run Summer Camps and are awaiting guidance from Tennis Ireland.

Please remember to book your court in advance and to enter the name of each player in the booking system. If you are unable to use your court, please cancel the booking so other members may avail of it.

All of the updated rules can be viewed here.

Yours sincerely

Susie Kennelly
