More exciting news this week......this time from Julie (Byrne)  I asked Julie to write a few lines  telling us about her upcoming year in the States...and these are her words..

My Senior Spring season had just got under way, as we had played our first conference match at the beginning of March. Two days later, the day we were supposed to travel to Orlando, we were informed that THE NCAA was cancelling all sports for the remainder of the school year. I was told that that was it and my tennis career at Northwestern was over.

A few weeks later we were told that Spring sports were going to be given another year of eligibility, which meant that I would be allowed to come back as a senior and compete for another year. As my undergradute degree wraps up next week, I will graduate with a Major in Communications and a Minor in Marketing. As this is the case, I started to apply to Masters programs within Northwestern for next year. I have been lucky enough to be accepted into the Kellogg MSMS program. It is in the top 3 business schools in America and within the top 10 worldwide.  I will be training in Evanston and commuting downtown to Chicago for my classes each day. I am very lucky Northwestern have given me this opportunity to come back.  I can't wait to get started again in September!

Congratulations Julie...that all sounds just brilliant... couldn't help thinking as I was typing this  how proud dear Louise would be of you Julie.

As things move along to "new" normality, tennis is still very much top of the list!  It's great to see so many of you getting such pleasure from a game of tennis!  By the way no visitors are allowed for the foreseeable future. Full details of updated guidelines are here.

For the next two weeks (from Mon 15th) there will be a Junior supervisor on duty between the hours of 2pm - 5pm primarily to ensure all unaccompanied Juniors are adhering to required COVID-19 guidelines. This Junior Supervision is not our usual summer Junior Supervision "drop & go" service.....all Junior members still need to book as per current COVID-10 guidelines and no drop ins allowed. All U/14s must still be accompanied by a parent / guardian.

A reminder that Courts 2 & 3 will be out of action from 8am - 2pm on Monday / Tuesday next..
we would ask members booked on courts 1, 4, 5 & 6 during those times to enter the courts by the back of 2 & 3. Thanks a mil.

That's it for this week....take care & enjoy your tennis!
